This activity provides young people living in rural and remote areas with access to one-to-one career counselling and mentoring from experienced professionals through Virtual Reality (VR).
Young participants will attend the sessions at the Youth Multicentre, where they will receive technical support to use VR headsets and connect to a shared virtual workspace. Professionals will participate remotely from their workplaces, allowing young people to interact directly with people working in professions they are interested in.
The activity uses immersive platforms such as Horizon Workrooms and, at a later stage, Immersed to create a virtual meeting environment where participants and professionals can communicate, share presentations and information, ask questions, and discuss real career pathways.
The activity is designed to overcome geographical barriers and provide young people in rural communities with mentoring opportunities that may otherwise be difficult to access.
